Association Swiss Stand Up Paddle (hereafter “ASSUP”) is constituted by a non profit association for an unlimited duration. This association is governed by By-Laws and for the remainder by articles 60 and seq. of the Swiss Civil Code.
The
purpose of the Association is to promote the Stand-Up Paddle (hereafter
“SUP”) activity, to represent and defend the interests of its Members,
to coordinate the development of the SUP activities with the local
authorities and to organise SUP competitions and events.
ASSUP
was founded in 2011 by a group of experienced Swiss SUP Paddlers who
decided to join forces in order to help promote the sport. The main
activity for its first year was to put in place different recognized
race formats (Beach Race, Long Distance, Relay Races) that are
successfully used across the world. This lead to the organization of the
first Swiss SUP Championship held July 9th 2011 in Préverenges Beach
Vaud, where over 50 competitors from across Switzerland took part.
